Get To Know The Current Status of Teacher Eligibility Tests

Teaching is one of the largest professions across the world, as teaching professionals not only guide their learners academically but also cultivate them and support their overall growth. Due to the never-ending demand for professional and skilled teachers, teacher training certification courses online are shaping 21st century teachers.

For taking up a career as a teacher, you need to have a passion for teaching. The Teacher Eligibility Test, known as TET, is the minimum qualification required and passing an applicable Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is obligatory for applicants looking for a career in elementary school teaching. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) generally conducts Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). However, many states conduct their own TET.  

As most of the entrance and employment assessments have been reorganized due to the covid19 pandemic, let us see the latest update regarding these assessments -

Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET): Since the global pandemic hit us yet again, CBSE delayed the CTET exam last year and conducted it in January 2021. The results were announced in February 2021. However, new aspirants are waiting and the agenda for this year’s CTET is yet to be broadcasted by the board.

Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers or REET: It was planned to be conducted in April 2021. Though, due to the current situation, the government once again postponed the exam date to June 20, 2021. At present, the government is now considering postponing to June 20 to deliver a chance to apprentices from economically weaker sections (EWS). Also, the application procedure for EWS will be starting soon, the state government said students will get at least 15 days for registering.

Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test or UPTET: The Uttar Pradesh Board of Basic Education has also postponed the UPTET 2021 examination due to the pandemic. Previously, the registering progression was arranged to start from May 18th and the exam was planned to be held on July 25th. The new schedule is yet to be announced.

Himachal Pradesh Teachers Eligibility Test or HP TET: The Himachal Pradesh Board also has started the online application procedure for HP TET for the June session 2021 and it will continue till June 13th. The exam is being programmed to be held in July 2021 in anticipation of that circumstances.

Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET): The Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan closed the registration process for KTET 2021 on May 23rd. Nevertheless, the assessment date is yet to be broadcasted. The government stated there will be two exams - one for lower primary classes, upper primary classes, and the other for high school classes in Kerala.

Indeed, a parallel situation is also being confronted by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB). The assessment could not be conducted even in January 2021 as the board adjourned the exam authoritatively due to the epidemic. On the other hand, Odisha managed to conduct the OTET 2021 on April 9, 2021. Chhattisgarh Teacher Eligibility Test (CG TET) is also postponed and is yet to declare any pronouncement on the new agenda of the exam.
