Anupama Pradhan hails from Gangtok, Sikkim. She did her schooling from Tashi Namgyal Academy, Gangtok and then completed her Bachelor’s in Hotel Management from Amity University, Kolkata. Currently pursuing her Masters in Tourism from IGNOU, Anupama has previously worked as a visiting faculty (2020 - 2023) at ICFAI University, Sikkim.As a child, she was highly inspired by her grandmother who used to work as a school teacher. Her passion in English Literature clearly reflected in her teachings. The contribution her grandmother made as a teacher, still lives through the thousands of students she has taught and the lives she has touched.
Anupama joined ACT’s sought after TEFL program in January, 2023. Her main motive behind joining this program was to enhance her teaching skills. But little did she know that apart from her skills, she would be able to transform herself as an individual and the course would broaden her view of life as well. Her personal experience during this program was extraordinary. According to her, it was extremely challenging, enriching, and she experienced a wonderful session.
She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her trainer, who taught her to be patient during difficult times and inspired her to move towards her goal whenever she was in doubt. Her trainer has also been a huge inspiration to her. Upon completing the program, Anupama got the opportunity to sit for an interview with help from ACT’s placement cell and finally got placed as a teacher in Kwang Tong School, Thailand. She is now looking forward to the new challenges and experiences in life.
